About Benkyodo

Benkyodo Company is a family owned and operated business and has been since it first opened as one of the original businesses in Japantown in 1906.

On June 24th, 2006, Benkyodo proudly celebrated its 100th anniversary.

On May 28th, 2008, Benkyodo was chosen by Assemblyman Mark Leno of the 13th Assembly District as the recipient of the California Small Business of the Year award.
